We had a marvelous couple of days with lovely friends last week when Karen & Myles came and stayed with us.
They came with their motorhome Scooby on Thursday after lunch and left on Saturday at midday. Since we talked english the whole time I want to write this post in english too.
We known each other for about five years, We thank our life as full-timers in a motorhome for that! I have written about Karen & Myles before and I also interviewed them once, you can read that here.
We met for the first time in Peniche (PT) 2019, then enjoyed some summer days in Alingsås and at Göta Kanal (SE), biked on Rugen (DE), explored Stralsund (DE), stayed at the same camping for 2,5 weeks in Denia (ES) and then they came to us here i PT for a couple of days in the beginning of 2021. So now, almost two years later we finally met again and the time rushed, as usually when you´re having fun!
Even if we have contact through WhatsApp and Rogers Instagram there´s a lot that has happened that we want to talk about. I follow them on YouTube, but what´s shared on social media is of course not enough 🙂 So the gaps was filled in.
And as always it ´s a lot of laughter and a huge variation of subjects. High and low. Shallow and deep. Light and dark. Heavy and easy.
Myles was demanding we built a pool, when we bought this place. So, yes, now we have and he of course had to inspect and try it out. He approved, even if he thought it was a bit chilly.
Whats this film to see his inspection 🙂
We went to Casa Nirvana and hade a lovely lunch. Afterwards we took a walk in the village which we never done before so another memory was created together. I will show you images of São Martinho das Amoreiras in another post.
Plans for our next date are done and we are already looking forward to that!
We took the opportunity to make a couple of tastings on Friday evening!
Finally we opened our plum liqueur, which I made from last years harvest. I did three different; one with vodka, one with white rum and I one with a mix of rum and vodka.
Both Karen and Myles liked the one with the mix best and Roger and I liked the rum best. It was really three totally different tastes. Very interesting!
Before they came here they were a couple of days in Porto and the Douro valley. So they bought a bottle of 20 years old port wine and when we where in the Douro valley last fall we also bought port wine. So we made another tasting.
No doubt – we all loved the port wine from Quinta da Côrte the best, and yes, that bottle was the most expensive, so the taste really was reflected in the price (which not always is the case imho).
We are really blessed with many good friends!
